Useful background rather than a working document. The point of the triangular geometry is that a biaxial grid is stiff in two directions and a triangular one is stiff in every direction in the plane. Load under a wheel does not travel along the roll, so a grid that only resists in two axes is leaving capacity on the table.

Worth knowing when reading older specs: TriAx superseded the BX biaxial grids for trafficked surfaces, and has itself largely been superseded by InterAx and the H-Series. A spec written a decade ago may call for a TX number that is no longer the current product, and that is a renaming rather than a discontinuation in most cases.
