Tensar's installation sheet for the InterAx NX geogrids, covering storage, site preparation, which way to unroll, overlap by subgrade strength, and getting fill on without displacing the grid.
InterAx goes straight on the subgrade. No granular working layer first, which catches people out who learned on older products, and it is the whole point of using it over soft ground.
Two numbers worth having before the truck arrives. Storage is limited to about six months in direct sunlight, which is shorter than the H-Series grid at eighteen, so InterAx sitting in a yard over a season is worth checking. And do not handle it below 14°F: the material is stored above -20°F but worked warmer than that.
Shingle the rolls in the direction the aggregate is going to be spread, not just any direction. Spreading against a shingle lifts the leading edge and drags the grid, and you will not see it once the stone is down.
If the design calls for a geotextile under the grid, the guide points out you can use InterAx FilterGrid instead and lay one product rather than two. We stock the FilterGrid versions, and our roll calculator has their roll sizes, which are not the same as the plain grid.
