Installation steps for GlasPave, a fibreglass mesh between two polyester mats that works as a waterproofing interlayer, including the milled-surface texture limit that decides whether it can go down at all.
The number to check before anything else on a milled surface: texture depth must not exceed half an inch between the top of the ridges and the bottom of the troughs. Beyond that the mat bridges the troughs instead of bedding into them, and Tensar wants you to call them rather than proceed. Worth measuring after the mill goes through, not assuming from the mill’s settings.
On concrete, a levelling course is recommended rather than optional. Placing a waterproofing mat straight onto a jointed concrete surface puts the mat over voids at every joint.
Tack has to be uniform with full coverage. Not heavy, uniform. A striped or patchy spray under a waterproofing mat leaves unbonded lanes, and the whole point of this product is that water does not get past it.
Store it indoors. It is a polyester mat and it does not want to be sat out in the weather waiting for a paving window.
