The Petromat Paving Fabric Range

The overview of the Petromat family, the paving interlayer fabric Propex introduced fifty years ago, covering the original, the Plus-White reflective version and the recyclable Enviro.

What it covers

  • Petromat Original, and what a paving interlayer does
  • Petromat Plus-White, and its light reflective surface
  • Petromat Enviro, millable and recyclable into RAP
  • Elongation tuned for placement onto a milled surface
  • Installation around curves without wrinkles
  • No fibreglass, so no associated handling irritation

Notes from us

Use this to choose between the three rather than to learn how to install them. The differences are small on paper and matter a lot on a job.

Original is the baseline and the one most specs still name. Plus-White is the same job with a reflective surface that runs up to 50°F cooler, which matters for night work and hot-weather paving because it cuts tack bleed-through and tracking. Enviro is the one to reach for when the milled material has to be recycled into RAP.

One line worth noting for crews: no fibreglass, so none of the handling irritation that comes with glass-based interlayers. That is a real difference on a long job, not a marketing point.

Road Fabrics installs paving fabric rather than selling it by the roll. If you are not sure which of the three the job wants, call us; it usually comes down to milling, night work and temperature rather than the performance numbers.
