Petromat Enviro Recyclable Paving Fabric

The brochure for Petromat Enviro, the paving fabric engineered to mill into small enough pieces to be recycled into RAP, with a solar reflective surface that runs cooler than dark fabric.

What it covers

  • Milling into small pieces so the fabric can go into reclaimed asphalt pavement
  • Moisture barrier and stress relief performance
  • Elongation engineered for placement directly onto a milled surface
  • Wrinkle-free installation around curves
  • A solar reflective surface running up to 50°F cooler than dark fabric

Notes from us

The recycling argument is the headline, and it is a real one: a conventional paving fabric mills into long stringy pieces that foul a crusher and put the RAP out of spec. Enviro is engineered to break into pieces small enough to go back in. If your agency has a recycled content requirement, or you mill and reuse your own material, that is the whole conversation.

The part contractors care about more is the colour. Up to 50°F cooler than dark fabric, which means less tack bleeding through and less tracking on a hot day, and a crew that is not standing on a black sheet in August.

The elongation is tuned for milled surfaces. Fabric that is too stiff bridges the grooves; too soft and it wrinkles going round a curve. This one is aimed at the middle of that.

Road Fabrics installs paving fabric rather than selling it by the roll. Tell us about the job.
